Ohtani made another page of ML history!... 1997/1998 Summoning 2 scary monsters

Shohei Ohtani (30, LA Dodgers) has also made another page in major league history.

U.S. statistical media Opta Stats reported Ohtani's record on the 1st local time. That was the news that Ohtani became the third major leaguer to record 100 hits-25 home runs-15 steals in July.

Although Ohtani has not been able to serve as a pitcher this season due to the aftermath of elbow surgery last year, he has not been able to serve as a pitcher this season. However, he has shown his best performance by focusing only on batters.메이저놀이터

Ohtani has played in 82 games this season with a batting average of 0.316 (102 hits in 323 times at bat), 26 home runs, 21 doubles, two triples, 62 RBIs, 67 runs, 45 walks, 76 strikeouts, 16 steals (two failed), a 0.370 on-base percentage, a 0.635 slugging percentage and 1.034 on-base plus slugging percentage (OPS).

Ahead of Ohtani, two players recorded "100 hits – 25 homers – 15 steals" ahead of July. They were Larry Walker (1997) and Alex Rodriguez (1998).

Larry Walker is a living legend of Canadian baseball. He is the first Canadian to be inducted into the Major League Hall of Fame. He played in 153 games during the 1997 season and had a batting average of 0.366 (208 hits in 568 at-bats) with 49 homers, 130 RBIs, 143 runs, 46 doubles, four triples, 78 walks, 90 strikeouts and 33 steals (eight failed) to finish the season. Eventually, he became the first Colorado Rockies player to win the National League MVP after the season ended.

During his 161 games in the 1998 season, Alex Rodriguez had a batting average of 0.310 (213 hits in 686 at-bats), 42 homers, 35 doubles, five triples, 124 RBIs, 123 runs, 121 strikeouts with 45 walks, 46 steals (failed 13), 0.360 on-base percentage, 0.560 slugging percentage, and 0.92 OPS. Both Larry Walker and Alex Rodriguez shared the commonality that they continued their impressive performances through June.

The Digest, a Japanese media outlet that dealt with the news, said, "If Otani continues the same pace as in the first half, he is expected to achieve a phenomenal number of 200 hits, 50 homers, 30 steals, and 120 RBIs. If this is realized, we will be closer to the first MVP in the Major League as a designated hitter."
